Austria

Weingut Bründlmayer is situated in Langenlois, some 70km north-west of Vienna, upstream along the Danube in the Lower Austrian Kamp Valley.
At Bründlmayer, the orchestration of great wines is aspired to in the most diverse instrumental constellations.

SCHLOSS GOBELSBURG is the oldest winery in the Austrian Danube area with a documented history back to the 12 th century – in 1171, Cistercian monks from Burgundy received a small plot of land, which marked the beginning of a long tradition of wine production. Since its establishment the winery has been one of the leading producers in the region and throughout Austria. The winery’s most important varieties are Grüner Veltliner and Riesling, as vintner Michael Moosbrugger is constantly looking to exploit their wide variety of expressive qualities and characteristics.

Every men and women who proudly beared the colours of Chanson over centuries shared and still share a profound respect for the earth, the vine and the wine.

Out of a profound passion for wine, and at a time where the consumption of wine was an exclusive privilege of the upper class, the winemaker Peter Mertes founded his own winery in 1924. His mission: to make wine accessible to people from all walks of life and to share his passion for wine with as many people as possible. Now as in the past, the liberal thinking of our company founder remains deeply anchored in our company philosophy.
